Following New Brunswick, the province of Nova Scotia is looking for Registered Nurses (NOC 3012). In yesterday’s draw, candidates with work experience as registered nurses or registered psychiatric nurses were targeted under the Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities stream.
The Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities stream selects candidates in the federal Express Entry system who meet provincial labour market needs to apply for nomination. As the stream is designed to fulfil Nova Scotia’s economic and social needs, the specified occupations and criteria may vary from draw to draw.
We are pleased to announce that a few of our clients were eligible to get an invitation in the Nova Scotia round. Moreover, these clients have scores below 400 (i.e. 367, 373 etc) with a Nursing occupation, which is nowhere near to the Federal Express Entry score. This is a perfect answer to why we focus a lot on the PNPs, for the candidates whose scores are not reaching the Federal EE cut-offs.
Points to Note:
1. Provinces not only target IT or Finance but also any other occupation that is lacking in the job market.
2. Even with a score of 400, it is possible to get an invitation from any PNP (Provincial Nomination Program) with the right preparation and strategy.
Nova Scotia has a diversified economy that is dependent on both land and sea resources. It also has a competitive ICT (Information Communications Technology) sector, especially in the capital city of Halifax. Aside from IT, the province is also home to the Aerospace & Defence, Healthcare, and Financial Service industries.
The massive economic growth in Nova Scotia has created vacancies for skilled talents. Applicants have a good chance of quickly finding a job in the province thanks to its active labour market that frequently opens for various skilled professionals.
