There are many immigration pathways managed by IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) and a Provincial nomination is one of valuable routes for eligible candidates.
In our posts, we have discussed how a Provincial Nominee Program works, how to apply and how to get an invitation. The reason why we pursue our clients to focus on a PNP besides the Federal draws has been quite clear from the recent announcement.
A report by CIC news states, Canada’s provinces have held nearly 10 times as many draws as Express Entry this year.
The active Provinces are British Columbia, Alberta, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Manitoba, along with much controversial Quebec and recently active New Brunswick.
The selection process and conditions to get a provincial nomination may differ from one province to the next. If you are a regular reader of our newsletters, each and every PNP pathway has been covered by us with details and sent to you. In case you’ve missed, check out our blog page to review the updates.
In overall, PNP may offer you an easier route to migrate to Canada. Also, the number ofdraws conducted by provinces are 160, so far. There is no doubt it is outperforming Federal Express Entry, which is a pleasant news. Considering the previous year records, in 2019, we have seen the largest draw intakes and favorable score drops in many provincial invitation rounds.
If you’re still delaying to enter the EE pool, in straight words, its a wasted opportunity. There are thousands of candidates who struggle every year to go to Canada, many of them have already lost the chance due to age, new rules, or certain other factors. The more you delay, the chances become slim.
Are you already in the EE pool? We will lodge your application as soon as any PNP opens its window without any additional cost.
How do Provinces Select Applications? A Review!
The Canadian provinces pick qualified applications mostly from the Express Entry. Over the past years, almost all of the provinces and territories launched their EE linked streams.
One of the greatest advantages of this category is, you just have to be in the pool to get an invitation. Moreover, the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) scores for selected PNP nominations were as low as 300. If you are successful, you will receive an additional 600 points towards the Express Entry CRS score and may get an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence.
Besides the EE linked stream, there are streams with special requirements, like in-demand categories, where you are required to show evidence of your experience in a targeted job and may not be asked for an EE profile to get an invitation.

Next, Quebec Conducts an Arrima draw! Will You be Eligible in Future??
As per the information updated in the Quebec PNP website (on 19th August 2019), the draw was originally conducted on 17th July 2019. In this round, the PNP issued 259 invitations to candidates with an Expression of Interest profile with a valid job offer.
It was the second Arrima draw in the year 2019. The first draw was conducted on 4th July 2019 and sent 691 invitations. As we stated in our newsletters that the Arrima portal will remain open year-round and individuals looking to immigrate to Quebec under the QSWP (Quebec Skilled Worker Program) must submit an expression of interest form online.
Even though a job offer is needed, but it is good news that Quebec is finally opening after many controversies. One such was a cancellation of roughly 16,000 pending applications filed in 2018. But the government offered resolutions after the court’s order on the favour of the applicants.
Quebec has a very low population. Because of the many French-speaking communities, it has always been a paradise for non-English speakers. But they are now eager to invite English speakers with a basic understanding of French. There are high chances the PNP may open for applicants without any job offers. Let’s hope for the best.
